Project Description:
ABC Home Services is a global hospitality company specializing in internet-based services and products within the hospitality sector. To enhance customer experience, the company aimed to develop a web-based service portal that connects users with various home service providers, such as plumbers, gas stove repair specialists, and furniture technicians. This platform allows users to search for services based on category, location, price, and availability, as well as book and pay for services securely. Additionally, users can manage their profiles, provide ratings and feedback, and create service-related posts to offer their own home services.
My Role & Contributions:
This is a personal project undertaken for my professional development, where I assumed the role of a Business Analyst (BA) to gain hands-on experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and software development processes. My key contributions included:
• Business Requirement Document (BRD): Defined business needs, functional requirements, and an end-to-end process flow using use case diagrams and swimlane flowcharts.
• Use Case Document: Developed detailed use cases outlining user interactions with the system for a specific feature.
• User Stories: Created Agile user stories focusing on user-centric functionality for selected features.
• Test Cases: Designed test scenarios for positive and negative cases to ensure system reliability.
• SQL Practice Document: Drafted queries to manage and retrieve essential data from the system database.
This project showcases my ability to think from a BA perspective, gather and document requirements, and contribute to software development lifecycles, demonstrating my readiness for real-world Business Analyst roles.
